The Optimo hat became a popular style for Brits in the tropics, especially those in India, Malaysia, and Hong Kong. The Optimo hat was worn by Peter O'Toole in the movie 'The Last Emperor' Sean Connery wore the Optimo hat in the movie 'Just Cause' and in 'The Man Who Would Be King'. The Optimo is seen frequently in the movie 'The Legend of Bagger Vance' as well, and was worn on the set by the director, Robert Redford. Sydney Greenstreet wore an Optimo hat in 'Casablanca'.
